The New South Wales Government has established several initiatives to attract film and television production to New South Wales.
NSW REGIONAL FILMING FUND (RFF)
The NSW Regional Filming Fund (RFF) provides grants for filmmakers wishing to film for a week or more in regional New South Wales. Assistance will be considered for amounts up to 50% of the budgeted costs of filming in regional NSW, up to $100,000 per production. The fund is only available to qualified Australian productions and productions that have the majority of their spend in New South Wales.

FILM & TV INDUSTRY ATTRACTION FUND
The New South Wales Government has created an incentive fund for "Footloose" productions that are interested in filming in New South Wales. The fund, known as the Film & TV Industry Attraction Fund, aims to increase NSW market share in film and television production. Australia's Federal and State/Territory Governments offer a range of incentives to attract overseas-originated screen content to produce and/or conduct Post, Digital and VFX production (PDV) in Australia.
The Location and PDV Offsets apply no nationality or cultural tests - although there are other criteria for eligibility (see Ausfilm Factsheet: Australian Screen Production Incentives, while the Producer Offset is exclusively for productions with Significant Australian Content (SAC) or official co-productions.
The Location and PDV Offsets are administered by the Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts (DEWHA), while the Producer Offset is currently administered by theFilm Finance Corporation of Australia (FFC), and then Screen Australia after 1st July 2008.

Screen Australia is a newly established Australian Government agency operating under the Screen Australia Act 2008 (Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts).
Screen Australia commenced operation on 1 July 2008, bringing together the functions of the Film Finance Corporation Australia (FFC) and Film Australia Limited, as well as most of the functions of the Australian Film Commission (AFC).
The National Film and Sound Archive, previously part of the AFC, has been established as a separate statutory authority. See www.nfsa.gov.au
