ACTRESS VICTORIA THAINE NEW PATRON OF 2008 SHORT SHARP FILM FEST
Actress Victoria Thaine is the new Patron of 2008 Short Sharp Film Festival. Victoria recently co-starred in the successful ABC TV series RAIN SHADOW. Starring Rachel Ward and Victoria Thaine, RAIN SHADOW tells the story of two female vets who join forces to battle against the severe effects of the drought on the small fictional farming community of Paringa. Victoria has starred in a number of Australian television and film productions including GONE, TWO TWISTED, 48 SHADES, THE CATERPILLAR WISH, STILL LIFE and THE NIGHT WE CALLED IT A DAY.
“I'm very excited about being the patron of a program that will help nurture filmmaking and will inject a much needed vitality into the arts culture of our region," said Victoria Thaine. “Having grown up in Coffs Harbour, I recognise the need to nurture new talent, and the region has been starved for too long of resources and support. The Short Sharp Film Festival is not just about helping people make films. It's also about fostering a cultural identity for our region. So I am honoured to be involved in something which I think will give back to the community tenfold."
